I was drawn to the field of urologic oncology for two main reasons—the ability to vastly impact a patient’s life and the ability to carry out continuity of care. I enjoy developing long-term relationships with my patients. I use robotic minimally invasive and organ-sparing techniques to treat people with prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, penile and adrenal cancers. I’m able to help cure cancer while preserving patients’ quality of life.
When I work with patients at Perlmutter Cancer Center, my main goal is to explain all the available treatment options to them and their family members. Having had several family members endure various cancer diagnoses, I understand that such a diagnosis brings fear and uncertainty for patients and their families. My personal philosophy is to treat patients how I would wish for my family members to be treated.
Overall, my mission is focused on delivering world-class oncologic care close to home in the most compassionate and respectful way possible. I always advocate for the options that best help preserve functionality and quality of life for my patients, while maintaining a focus on a cure. My team and I use a multidisciplinary approach to care that includes patient education, research, clinical trials, innovative treatments, and ongoing communication with patients and their families.
I am a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Society of Urologic Oncology, and American Urologic Association.
