Stephen Hardeman, MD

About

Dr. Stephen Hardeman attended medical school at the Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and completed his internship and residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Additionally, he completed a Fellowship in Urology at Johannes Gutenburg University, in Mainz, West Germany. He also completed a Postgraduate Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the University of Tennessee Memphis Medical Center where he accepted appointments as an Instructor and Assistant Professor.

Dr. Hardeman is a member of various professional societies, including the American Medical Association, Society of University Urologists, South Central Section of the American Urological Association and the Travis County Medical Society. He has also been published in many professional journals.

Dr. Hardeman enjoys caring for both male and female patients, and has special interests in prostate cancerkidney cancerbladder cancer,  and testicular cancer. He also works with male patients experiencing erectile dysfunction. For over 25 years, Dr. Hardeman has been on the kidney transplant team at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center where he performs living donor nephrectomies. He is one of two urologists in Austin who exclusively perform living donor transplants.

Dr. Hardeman has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” under the category of Urology in the January 2020 edition of Austin Monthly Magazine. He was also designated as a Top Doctor by Austin Monthly in 2013 – 2019. Additionally, Dr. Hardeman has been named a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2012 through 2021.
